The County’s grand old theatre is presenting a stocking full of goodies, something for everyone
to help celebrate the holiday season.

On December 3rd at 8:00PM, A Christmas Special , a live concert by the Toronto All-Star Big Band, fashioned in the tradition of the classic “Christmas Show” of yesteryear, TABB wings into the festive season with some sensational big band tunes.

Then, on December 4th at 2:15PM, after the Santa Clause parade, there’s a free movie the kids will love. Staring Tom Hanks, it’s The Polar Express, the story of a boy’s magical trip to the North Pole aboard a mysterious big black train.

And, on Sunday, December 18th at 1:00PM, that perennial Christmas favourite, The Nutcracker, live via satellite in high definition from the Bolshoi in Moscow.

These are just a few examples of the fabulous variety of great entertainment offered by The Regent.  First-run movies, classic movies, documentaries, live theatre, ballet and opera via satellite, and live, on-stage music and comedy, performed by well-known artists. The Regent is definitely the hub of the performing arts in Prince Edward County.

In 2011, a  major renovation project, benefitting from grants by various organizations, was completed, and included an increase to 450 seats.  The Foundation is now on a fundraising initiative to pay for a new digital projection system which was installed in September 2011 and is currently being leased with intent to purchase.

Prince Edward County and theatre goers from neighbouring communities have a real treasure in the Regent Theatre. A rare example of an Edwardian theatre architecturally, the Regent offers the community 21st century entertainment of a range and quality unsurpassed anywhere.
