This morning, Kathy, Jenn, Grace and I, joined a large group of regional heritage and culture stakeholders at a meeting hosted by the Tourism Development Alliance (TDA).
President of the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism & Commerce and TDA co-chair, Rick Caruso, welcomed everybody, while Kathy guided the discussion.
Intended to act as an information exchange and brainstorming session, the meeting generated a lot of lively discussion. We heard about everything from upcoming events, particularly those designed to honour the 225 anniversary of Loyalist settlement in Ontario that will take place in 2009, to the ways in which various groups might combine forces.
In order to facilitate future communications, Lawrie Ackerman of the Chamber agreed to create a contact list and a second meeting is planned for 10 am, Monday, January 12 at the Bloomfield Town Hall. All are welcome to join in and share their ideas.
