Last night Kathy and myself met with a number of maple producers to the kick-off the 8th annual Maple in the County. Hosts Ron and Janice Hubbs of Hubbs Sugarbush invited us to meet at their quaint Sweet Water Cabin on Rednersville Road.

It was good to see all of the maple producers out and in a spirit of cooperation and excitement about moving forward with the event for the next few years. A lively and frank discussion took place, decisions were made and we are all ready to proceed full speed ahead.

Following the meeting Janice brought out some refreshments and nibbles for us to enjoy and both Ron and Janice took some time to show and explain some of their maple artifacts and treasures that are housed in the cabin.

I guess Ron felt I needed a bit more sweetening…as he filled my pockets with maple candy on the way out. Thanks Ron!
