Every year Taste the County oversees the production of a number of publications and events. Juggling these various projects and their deadlines is a complicated task. So, as part of an ongoing effort to streamline all of our processes, we’ve created the following calendar of important dates and deadlines to help our partners keep current on what projects we’re working on. Take note of those that apply to you!

For the next few weeks, grade twelve student Colin Sills is helping us out at Taste the County headquarters. As part of Prince Edward Collegiate Institute’s County Roots program, he will be providing invaluable assistance on projects such as Countylicious and Maple in the County. An experiential course, County Roots has students working both at school and in the community to learn first-hand about the agriculture, tourism and culinary industries of Prince Edward County. Welcome Colin, we’re happy to have you!
Last night my family travelled from Cobourg to the west and Kingston to the east to meet for a Countylicious evening at the Merrill Inn. Whether they ordered the cabbage rolls with smoked pork rib, sauerkraut and sausage or the smoked trout with beet and apple salad, the crispy roasted Cornish hen with County succotash or the seared beef striploin medallion with blue cheese scented potato gratin and oxtail ravioli, everyone raved about the food and the portions, which were generous. Everyone left happy and full, and with a promise to meet again come spring to discover another participating Countylicious eatery.
