Andrew Csafordi, Encaustic Sculptural Painter at “UNIQUE BOUTIQUE”

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

Spectacular paintings that reach beyond the board and stir the imagination.

Andrew brings the viewer into an organic land or skyscape unlike any other. Rich layered textures of imagination, bees wax, fibres, wood, metal and other materials are used in combination to tell a story about “life below the surface” and “the roots that ground the world above”. He then continues to compose beyond the board, with additional materials carefully placed to reach out and add dimension to the piece, taking the eye on a detailed visual journey. Along the way, the work progresses from a painting to a sculptural piece.

Andrew also offers 1 and 2-day Encaustic Painting Workshops year-round.

His Studio: Andrew Csafordi Studio Gallery / www.andrewcsafordi.com

LISTEN TO MIX 97.1 from November 28 to December 2 during morning trivia and you could win a $50 gift certificate to be used towards the purchase of one of Andrew’s paintings (many sizes and prize ranges available) or towards an encaustic painting workshop experience.

Encaustic painting is fun and easy, using natural aromatic melted beeswax and oil paint mixed in for colour. The results will delight and surprise participants. No experience is necessary.

The One Day Workshop fee is $250 per person and the Two Day Workshop fee is $325. per person (plus HST) and includes a workbook, all materials, light refreshments, snacks and a delicious box lunch prepared by Huff’s Executive Chef, Michael Hoy. There is a maximum of 4 persons per workshop.
