    CITY REVIVAL – Recycled Fashions for Women and Men

    While living in Toronto, I was blessed in the 70′s to be able to buy wonderful clothing, and in the process was very spoiled by the fabrics and the styling of great quality fashion.  But…like many of us boomers…my 80′s finances didn’t allow for my tastes to continue.  That’s when I discovered recycled clothing and a world of possibilities opened up for me.  I could still indulge my tastes affordably!

    And it was so much fun!  We opened City Revival in Picton in January, 1992.  And through the ups and downs and experimentations over the past 20 years of stores in Toronto, Belleville and Kingston as well as Picton, the fun has never ended.  We now have only our beautiful store in Picton with 4000 sq. ft. of everything you can imagine.

    DesignPLANET

    It was always a dream to re-generate a space into a destination that promotes green lifestyles while celebrating a woman’s touch and the uniqueness of Mother Nature. I also wanted to make a difference. We took 700 square feet and transformed it with a creativity that most of our customers find interesting, delightful and clever. Display fixtures are re-used furniture bought from County Traders, a local used furniture barn, and then the chairs and tables are re-purposed by cutting and mounted on the walls. Old shutters are made into a rotating jewelry display, Bamboo ladders are home to umbrellas and scarves and recycled saris skirts. Old kitchen cabinets showcase the natural body care and healthy home cleaning supplies. The walls are painted in the colors of our woman friends’ skin and decorated with joyful sentiments of supporting friends.

    The Angel Boutique, Decor & More

    Rose always had a dream of being able to bring
    happiness, healing and tranquility to others

    Owner Rose Strong of “The Angel Boutique, Décor & More” always had a dream of being able to bring happiness, healing and tranquility to others. A dear and special friend’s son had passed away at the age of 10 years, his name was Christian. One year after his passing Rose was struggling with the idea of opening an Angel Store. Her friend was visiting for a morning coffee and said that her son Christian came to her that night and told her that Rose needed to open the store and that she would okay. Rose opened her first store in 2005 in Bronte Village, a suburb of Oakville, Ontario.

    Rose’s husband was transferred to CFB Kingston for his final posting in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2010. Along with her husband, Rose moved to the County in June of 2011 to re-open her store “The Angel Boutique, Décor & More”.

    Prior to opening “The Angel Boutique, Décor & More”, Rose ran a successful Gift Basket business from her home offering amazing gift baskets designed individually by her. Whether filled with gourmet foods, chocolates, teas and jams or packed with popcorn and movie tickets for a fun family night, the gift basket was a treat for both the receiver and the one who gave it.

    “Seeley’s is entering its 4th year of business in Picton. We purchased the “Jimodi Jean Company” from Darlene and Blaine Thompson. A year late we  changed the name  to Seeley’s as we wished to continue the Seeley store name as a third generation of family stores in Prince Edward County.

    Both Doug and I have worked in the public for all our careers, Doug retired from Corrections Canada and myself from the service industry.
