In September, the air in Prince Edward County begins to change. It’s not just the coming autumn that shifts it, but the whirlwind of activity that takes over this community as it attempts to keep up with the demands of the harvest. Taste! A Celebration of Regional Cuisine is the culmination of this effort, and represents a day of harvest festivity. Named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals, TASTE! has become a staple event for Prince Edward County, showcasing the best artisanal food producers, wineries, breweries, cideries and restaurants within 100 km of Picton, Prince Edward County. Highly anticipated, visitors can expect to savour samples of the finest local food, combined with unique pairings of regional drink while listening to acclaimed musicians set the mood for merriment. Countless workshops and seminars on cheese making to wine barrel-making will ensure your visit isn’t just sumptuous, but educational as well. A visit to the farmers and artisan market in the neighbouring arena will ensure festival-goers take with them the necessary ingredients to reproduce their favourite Taste! dish in the comfort of home. If planning to attend Taste! from afar plan to stay for the weekend or longer – this year off-site programming will be offered for several days leading up to the event and all weekend long, including unique wine tours, studio open houses and workshops offered throughout the County.
