Last night, Grace and Kathy attended the Wellington and District Business Association AGM and heard of the efforts the WDBA has made in getting their website off the ground, a tourism kiosk set up, as well as a report back from attendance at the Villages and Hamlets meeting held by Prince Edward County’s Street Smart Committee.
Guest speakers attended from Burnett Thorne Cultural Tourism of Kingston — a company devoted to heritage community planning and tourism product development. They spoke of their work in Cambridge, Ontario, as well as developing the Rideau Heritage Route, a cultural corridor connecting Kingston the Ottawa, which was designated last week by National Geographic as the #2 heritage site in the world.
